Free Shipment Policy: Delivery can take up to 8 business days. We cannot guarantee the date of delivery when selecting this method, should you need faster delivery please select the 2-Day or Next Day Air.

International Shipping and Taxes: North River Outfitter offers USPS Express International Shipping to the following countries: The United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, Denmark, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Israel, Ireland, Italy, Japan, New Zealand, Norway, Spain, Sweden and Switzerland. For a single item the cost of shipping is $30 USD. The USPS Express International charge pays for shipping costs (not duties, tariffs etc). All duties/taxes are the responsibility of the buyer upon receiving the goods. Contact your local customs agent to find out what these fees may include, if any. If an item is refused all original shipping costs will be charged to the original receiver of the goods, including but not limited to and from receiver and any duties/taxes incurred. Items shipped to customers within Massachusetts are subject to MA State Sales Tax. Please note we are not able to ship Alden, Patagonia, Helly Hansen, Marmot or Dale of Norway products outside the United States.

Methods of Payment: We accept Mastercard, Visa, Discover and American Express. For your security, your billing name and address must match that of the billing information on the credit card provided. Please note that we operate a 256 Bit SSL Secure Checkout, secured by GeoTrust for your protection and ours.

Returns: We pride ourselves in providing the highest standards of service and satisfaction to our customers.
Instructions: You must create an RMA (Return Merchandise Authorization) number by emailing us at within 10 days of receipt. Unfortunately, we cannot accept returns without an RMA number, any returns without an RMA will either be refused or we will issue a store credit (no exceptions).

Returns with an original sales receipt: Items purchased online must be received by within 14 days after the item is shipped from our facility or a full refund based on the original form of payment. Items purchased online must be received by within 30 days after the item is shipped from our facility for a merchandise exchange or store credit based on the original form of payment. Items must be unworn, tags attached, and returned in original packaging. A return/exchange or even exchange does not serve as an original receipt. When items are returned for an exchange or store credit, all future returns are for store credit or exchange only. FREE SHIP items that are returned for a refund will be charged for the original shipping cost of the items returned. The average UPS Ground delivery cost is $8.95. Should item be considered worn by our Management, we may elect to return the merchandise to the Customer or charge a re-stocking fee. As for warranty concerns you are responsible for all shipping costs back to us and back to you.
Due to the unique nature of our Handcrafted Leather Footstool, we do not accept returns, refunds or exchanges. We also do not accept returns, refunds or exchanges on jewelry or boxers.
Alterations Policy: We will make any future adjustments and repairs on full price items (without charge) until completely satisfied. However, we cannot accept a refund or exchange on items that have been altered or laundered.

Returns of Sale/Clearance items: All items that are discounted from the original suggested retail price including Sale, Discounted, "Sale Loft", Promotional and Clearance items purchased online are for Store Credit or Exchange Only. Items marked as "Final Sale" are Nonrefundable, No returns or exchanges. Please note: Once items are purchased, customers are not eligible for price adjustments.

Holiday Policy:  All items that are purchased after November 11, 2013 must be received by on or before January 6, 2014 for a merchandise exchange or store credit. Items purchased online must be received by within 14 days after the item is shipped from our facility for a full refund based on the original form of payment. Full price items returned outside the 14 day return period may be returned for store credit or merchandise exchange only.

Orders: We process orders daily, and with few exceptions, ship them out within 48 hours of their receipt. Free shipping (UPS Ground) can take up to 8 business days to arrive. Delivery time does not include Saturday, Sunday or Holidays. Typically orders placed after 2pm will be processed the next business day. When delivery is delayed for any reason, or a partial shipment is made, we will send you a confirmation of your order with an anticipated delivery date. We only offer Free Shipment on shipments within the lower 48 of United States. If you're a resident of Alaska or Hawaii, your shipping options are 2nd Day Air, or Next Day Air.

Backorders/Sold Out: Regardless of how professionally we anticipate our inventory needs, there are times when merchandise is backordered or sold out. If an item you order is backordered or sold out, we will notify you and give you the opportunity to change the order, cancel the order or wait for the merchandise to arrive.


Return Policy at Retail Stores: Please review the Return Policy on your sales receipt, contact our retail stores directly, or review the Return Policy posted in the store. The Policy for purchases made in our stores may vary from purchases made on depending on circumstances.

Return Policy for Special and Custom Orders: The following Policy applies toward Special Orders including custom/make up shoes, monogram, custom ties, shirts, hats etc. Payment is taken at the time of order, NRO will estimate time of delivery. We can only estimate delivery time and cannot guarantee. In certain circumstances, NRO will guarantee a delivery date (i.e. weddings) this must be arranged prior to order submission. Should product not be delivered on time, NRO will issue a Full Refund. Otherwise, all Special Orders/ Custom Orders are Final Sale and cannot be cancelled, modified or refunded.
