This is Britain by M. Sasek. This is Historic Britain is the last book in the This is series, reissued in 2008 as This is Britain.

Compared to the earlier books, there are fewer illustrations of people but lots of historic buildings. Sasek was a great draughtsman so the illustrations are technically excellent, and if you have an interest in historic Britain they are highly recommended. Possibly due to the subject or to its position as the final This is book, it lacks the sparkle of his earlier work.
