Dale of Norway 125th Anniversary Sweater
As a part the 2004 celebration of our 125th Anniversary, our designers have created a sweater reflecting 125 years of tradition, quality and innovation. In the Anniversary sweater you will see elements from Cortina - the very popular 1956 sweater, which represents the nostalgia and aspects of retro style. The 1956 sweater also represents the start of our long and very important cooperation with the Norwegian Ski Teams. This cooperation has brought the Dale sweaters out to a broader audience worldwide and has served as model for our many other important co-operations within the world of sport and culture. The elements from the Telemark and Setesdal designs convey tradition. The Setesdal pattern, part of the national costume and incorporated into the sweater, is one of the most ancient and authentic Norwegian knit designs. The central 8-leaf rose underlines the ties to the Norwegian design tradition and is one of the most enduring design elements All these ideas are brought together in a special Dale 125th Anniversary sweater, by utilizing modern knitting technology and a development of the Norwegian design elements. It conveys Dale timelessness and truly represents Dale from 1879 to 2004, while serving as an inspiration for the future.
